Can you imagine a world like a game. But from the perspective of the monsters?
Your world is infested with these alien creatures who call themselves “players”. Their small, but viscious. They die their clothes, hair, and even skin the most alarming colors. And are never seen without a weapon. Usually a stolen one.
The protocol is that you do not attack them- trying not to make eye contact with these ferocious beasts. you never know what theyre thinking or what they want. But you see them brutally mug your kind in front of you but do nothing in the hopes that whatever it wanted, it got from the other guy. And these creatures just relentlessly mug and brutalize whoever until they get what they want.
They start weak- easy to pluck off but they eventually come back to life and are stronger every time they do. Sometimes you can catch them when their weak- and their heart stops- you think their dead. But no, it restarts after who knows how long.
They can vanish into thin air. Their style changes each time you battle them- they can do magic.. sometimes.
Their entire culture revolves around beating up other species. The most powerful of yourpeople can employ them but who knows where their loyalties truly lie.
They can abandon their tasks midway to work for another- they could do a task against you by an enemy- there is no consequences for them- for killing them only delays them. They are obsessed with numbers, you hear them counting under their breath and you know that they will rampage until they hit the “right number “ of slain. Regardless of what you have in your pocket- because you reperesent a number in a certain species on their hitlist they are about to pummel you. And even if they don’t pick you- you have to stand motionless as they beat up your friends right in front of your eyes. And who knows what the number will be.
Sometimes they’ll knock you out- just because you were standing in their way. Sometimes they run right by. And sometimes they save your life… truly chaotic creatures
What I love… was almost everything about him. The same tastes, the honest conversation, the loyalty and understanding, it was all there. We were almost a perfect couple… almost. It was my first internship out of college and he was my director. We never intended to mix business with pleasure but well… I thought everything would end with my internship but I was wrong. That's when everything started. He was driven, confident, and set on changing the world. He loved that I was an artist and actually listened to me without thinking of what he could get in return. People were so supportive of us, until the day he asked me to spend the rest of his life with him. Then all we heard was this noise. 'you guys are going too fast.' you're too young.' Are you pregnant? Well, watch it, at this rate you will be.' Ha… they told us we were throwing our lives away. But what did we care. We were happy and they were all just background noise. We did everything right, we supported each other's dreams and I was so confident that we would survive anything. But, we started very slowly to grow apart. And it was painful to see, to watch what we had been building over the years just come apart. But he ignored it… so I did too. He was so driven, set on changing the world. And I was such an artist, who wanted the world we had built to just stay the same… It takes two people to fix a relationship and if not… We were broken a long time before we called off the engagement.
